Facts About This Race

Darializa’s campaign has gained serious momentum. She was recently endorsed by Mayor Zohran Mamdani and State Senator Robert Jackson, and is running a strong grassroots campaign for change in Upper Manhattan and the Bronx. Adriano Espaillat’s corporate allies are responding with desperate attack ads targeting Darializa.

Here are the facts:

Darializa does not take a dime of corporate money. Espaillat has claimed that Darializa has taken money from Palantir. That is a lie. Darialiaza has not and will not accept corporate donations.

Espaillat is trying to deflect from his own corporate donations.

  • Nearly $250,000 from real estate developers and lobbyists who are driving up our rents

  • $676,000 from AIPAC, a right-wing lobby group that supports unconditional aid to Israel as they commit genocide against Palestinians

  • $78,000 from corporate PACs this year alone

  • He recently took over $100,000 in late contributions from 69 major donors. 81% of those donors also give to the Republican party, and 97% are associated with AIPAC, including the former President of AIPAC

Darializa has a history of backing Democratic candidates, including Mayor Zohran Mamdani. Espaillat and his corporate friends would like you to believe Darializa is not a good Democrat, but Darializa actively worked to elect Zohran Mamdani Mayor and has voted for national Democrats like Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.

Espaillat and his corporate donors want you to care about tweets, but here are the facts about Adriano Espaillat’s votes and the donors encouraging him to vote against our interests:

Espaillat has voted for over $8.8 billion in ICE funding. That’s because ICE contractors are funding his campaign. He has accepted at least $115,000 from ICE contractors since 2016.

Espaillat's second largest donor is the real estate lobby, who are driving up rents in New York. That’s why Espaillat has done nothing as our neighbors have been pushed out of the city. Espaillat has taken nearly $250,000 from real estate developers and lobbyists.  Including Matthew and Mark Engle, whose buildings left tenants in NY-13  without gas for SIXTEEN MONTHS during the height of the pandemic.

Espaillat’s largest donor is AIPAC, a right-wing lobby group that endorses him and supports unconditional military funding to Israel. He has voted to send billions of dollars to Israel as they commit genocide while our community struggles to afford rent and groceries. Espaillat has taken more than $676,000 from AIPAC alone. This cycle, he has received a direct contribution from Robert Cohen, former president of AIPAC. In exchange, he has been a reliable vote in sending military weapons to Israel
